Burkina Faso Transition Government adopts Key decisions in recent cabinet meeting

The weekly Cabinet meeting convened on Wednesday under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition and Head of State in Burkina Faso. During this session, several crucial matters were examined and approved, signifying pivotal decisions for the course of the Transition, as emphasized by the Government Spokesperson, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.

Under the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Prospective, the Council reviewed a dossier related to the project maturation guide.

The Minister of Finance, Aboubakar Nacanabo, explained that the current version from 2018 had limitations and did not address current priorities.

The new guide aims to enhance these aspects, including the incorporation of project briefs into Council of Ministers discussions upon their formulation.

This approach ensures project alignment with current priorities, in conjunction with the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development.

A second dossier focused on the scrutiny of services rendered, attendance, and remuneration elements of state agents, particularly those from the National Agency for Primary Healthcare.

The operation uncovered over 500 agents in irregular situations, receiving fictitious remunerations, or holding dual mandates.

The Council provided clear directives to rectify these irregularities and to penalize all individuals directly or indirectly involved.

These measures taken during this cabinet meeting underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring transparent and efficient management of public resources and upholding the integrity and legitimacy of public administration within the framework of the Transition in Burkina Faso.
