Burkina Faso: Support for the transitional authorities, the people of Koudougou set the tone

In Burkina Faso, the population of Koudougou recently organized a gathering to honor the bravery of the Volunteer Defense Forces (VDP) and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) on the frontline, ahead of the major mobilization scheduled for Saturday, May 11.

With the theme «national unity and people’s victory», this gathering aims to salute the dedication of the FDS, VDP, and the determination of the transitional authorities in reclaiming territory and sovereignty.

According to the organizers, this gathering is a response to the call from local authorities and the community chief of Koudougou.

Jerome Zoma, former mayor of Koudougou and spokesperson for the people during the ceremony, emphasized the importance of daily prayers for the FDS and army auxiliaries.

«We have no choice. They are the ones fighting to keep Burkina Faso standing. We can only pray, encourage them, and offer our blessings for their success in this battle», stated the community chief of Koudougou.

The war against terrorism is not solely the responsibility of the FDS or VDP. The entire population  of Burkina Faso has a role to play in neutralizing these criminals.

It is crucial for the people to express unwavering support for the current government by contributing to state funds to meet the army’s needs.

Collaboration with authorities on security matters is also imperative to defeat terrorism, which has persisted for too long.

To facilitate this, the transitional authorities have taken steps to educate the people on the true stakes of this war.

On Saturday, May 11, the people are invited to gather at Ouagadougou Municipal Stadium.

This event should signal unity and adherence to the new policies implemented by President Ibrahim Traoré and his government.

It’s also an opportunity to send a clear message to those undermining the transition efforts for personal gain.
