Burkina Faso: Strong words of encouragement from His Excellency TRAORE to the VDP

The President of the Transition, Head of State, Supreme Chief of the National Armed Forces, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, visited a training site for Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) to encourage and prepare them for the reconquest of parts of the national territory under terrorist occupation.

In front of the VDP, the Head of State once again sounded the revolt, this revolt of a people cornered for a long time by armed terrorist groups that plunge the country into mourning, and who have no other choice but to fight. “We are going to fight, we are going to defend ourselves and we are not going to do this passive defense anymore because we are going to attack,” argued the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.

“That’s enough now,” said the Head of State, who invited the VDP to arm themselves with courage and self-sacrifice to engage in the fight against the terrorists, to liberate the country and restore hope to the entire Burkinabe people.

“You will not be alone, you will fight with us in the ranks of the army and we will liberate our land, we will give hope of life to these populations bruised”, said Captain Ibrahim TRAORE who also reassured that the means will be implemented to support and accompany the VDP in their deployment on the ground.

In front of the VDP, the Supreme Chief of the National Armed Forces castigated the attitude and behavior of some Burkinabè who row against the tide of the people’s will to fight to liberate the country.

“You are the hope and do not let yourselves be demoralized by stateless people who are there to discourage this patriotic impulse,” said the Head of State, stressing that the enemy’s strategy is to create a conflict between communities.

“Currently, they are pulling on the ethnic fiber to hope for an ethnic war. This does not exist and will not exist in Burkina Faso,” clarified the President of the Transition, who took the opportunity to invite the VDP to be courageous and to keep moving forward.

According to the Head of State, the VDPs must remain focused on the objective of their commitment.

“You national VDP here present, you have vowed to fight everywhere in Burkina Faso, and we will go everywhere in Burkina Faso to fight,” said the Head of State. And “we will commit ourselves with all the necessary energy and we will accompany you wherever you have to go because for this country we will shed the sweat that it takes, the blood that it takes to save it, to preserve it” said Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.

The period is historic and the Head of State invited the VDP to record their struggle in the annals of the march of our country. “You will go and you will come back very often to tell about your battles, to tell about your exploits and at some point in history, you will be able to say to your children at such and such a period, there was this and we stood up and we defended the land on which you live today” explained the President of the Transition.

Before taking leave of the VDP still in training, the Head of State wished to express his encouragement and congratulations for the time spent and the suffering endured.
