Burkina-Faso: SAMAE’s denial of a certain alleged rise to the niche

In recent months in Burkina Faso, after the most recent coup d’état, several changes have occurred at the governmental level, from the Head of State to the Ministers. Thus, some competent members of the former regime were reappointed to their posts. This thoughtful decision by the President of the MPSR is frowned upon by some individuals. As a result, they use the name SAMAE to bring up the population.

Indeed, these individuals lacking bearings, present in Faso, continue to make social networks, a means of incitement to violence. Several days ago, some information circulating on social networks, relayed several times, reported the preparation of SAMAE, the autonomous union of agents of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,to step up to the plate, to denounce the change that has taken place within the department in charge of foreign affairs. In particular, the appointment of a new Secretary-General and the management methods of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Olivia Rouamba, a veteran diplomat with a career spanning more than twenty years.

To this end, SAMAE has made a formal denial to this information, Monday, December 19, 2022, and brings to the attention of all Burkinabés, that it is not involved in any case, in these writings which engage only their authors, friends of destabilization. In addition, SAMAE reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defend the material and moral interests of all the agents of the Ministry in charge of foreign affairs, the only cause that deserves its attention. In short, the autonomous union of agents of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, calls on activists and sympathizers, to get rid of underhand statements that do not come directly from the administration, and to remain vigilant and mobilized for the government’s struggle.

SAMAE was created on 26 April 2006 and its fundamental objectives are to enhance and safeguard the diplomatic profession, strengthen the institution’s capacities, fight for justice and democratic freedoms and defend the material and moral interests of staff.
