Unir/A Kougnohou: President Faure Gnassingbé expresses gratitude to God for peaceful elections in Togo

In Togo, provisional results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) indicate the ruling party, Union for the Republic (Unir), as the winner of the legislative and regional elections. Out of 113 seats in the National Assembly, Unir secured a significant majority with 108 seats. Overall, election observation missions have praised the transparency and smooth conduct of the polls.

Following the announcement of results, the ruling party called for religious services nationwide.

These services of thanksgiving, held in all prefectures of the country, aim to express gratitude to the Lord God for the successful conduct of the legislative and regional double election on April 29 and for the party’s victory.

In Kougnohou, specifically in the Akébou 1 commune, President Faure Gnassingbé attended the thanksgiving service of his party.

During his visit to this locality, the Togolese president also visited the Kougnohou Prefectural Hospital to tour the facilities and provide comfort to hospitalized patients.

This gesture reaffirms the close relationship between the Unir party and the people of Togo.
