Burkina-Faso: Equipment and inputs for farmers, towards food self-sufficiency thanks to President Ibrahim Traoré

President Ibrahim Traoré’s agricultural initiative and agro-pastoral offensive aim to ensure food security and promote food sovereignty for the people of Burkina Faso. This vision, now a reality in the country, is further materializing through various implemented measures.

Having secured the territory to enable farmers to access their lands and provided seeds for crops, the government has recently provided Burkinabe producers with agricultural equipment and inputs (400 tractors, 239 tillers, 710 motor pumps, 714 motorcycles).

This move aims to enhance the production capacities of rural stakeholders, leading to increased outputs and improved agricultural yields.

The goal is to achieve food self-sufficiency, which is the second priority for the head of state after combating terrorism.

In addition to agricultural equipment, the Burkinabe government is also supporting agricultural producers with improved inputs and seeds. With these materials and inputs worth over 78 billion, the country is taking a significant step towards achieving food sovereignty, aiming to reduce its dependence on imports for essential commodities.
