Cooperation: Ouagadougou and Riyadh intend to strengthen cooperation in the health and security fields

For several years, Ouagadougou  and Riyadh have maintained excellent diplomatic relations. The fruitful collaboration between the two states covers various areas. During a meeting on Tuesday, January 30, President Ibrahim Traoré and the Ambassador of the Kingdom, Fahad Aldosari, discussed ways to strengthen this cooperation, particularly in the fields of health and security.

The audience provided an opportunity for Saudi diplomat Fahad Aldosari to convey a message of thanks from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to President Traoré.

The Saudi King commended President Ibrahim Traoré for his leadership and the quality of diplomatic relations that Burkina Faso maintains with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ambassador Aldosari made this declaration after the meeting.

Additionally, the envoy of King Al Saud expressed his country’s solidarity with Burkina Faso and its people in the fight against terrorism and for the well-being of the population.

He revealed that he also discussed with Captain Ibrahim Traoré the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in several strategic areas, including health and security.

Diplomatic relations between Burkina Faso and Saudi Arabia date back to 1970. The African country has had a diplomatic representation in Riyadh since 1980.

The robust nature of their relationship was further solidified by the opening of a Saudi embassy in Ouagadougou in 2002.
