Burkina Faso: The State sets up a new digital platform for authenticating vehicle registrations

As part of its ongoing efforts to clean up the transportation sector, the Burkinabe government has launched a digital platform aimed at authenticating vehicle registrations. This initiative is designed to enhance transparency and preserve state revenues.

Unveiled on Thursday, March 21 in Ouagadougou, the registration authentication platform is managed by the Ministry of Transport, Urban Mobility, and Road Safety.

Accessible through the website www.dgttmverif.bf, it will enable verification of the validity of temporary and permanent vehicle registrations in the Republic of Burkina Faso.

According to Roland Somda, Minister of Transport, this platform will significantly contribute to reducing fraud and counterfeiting while securing revenues generated by the Directorate General of Land and Maritime Transport (DGTTM).

Designed to be accessible to the general public, this digital solution will give citizens the ability to verify the compliance of their registrations with existing legislation.

It will help detect physical quality issues with plates, fake registration plates, and fraud related to vehicle registration documents.

This project is part of the Modernization and Securing of Transport Titles and Vehicle Re-registration Project in Burkina Faso, initiated in 2018.

Its main objective is to establish a modern and secure system for producing driving licenses and registration documents, compliant with international standards, as well as re-registering vehicles in the Burkinabe automotive fleet.

As part of its rollout, the ministry plans an extensive awareness campaign to familiarize citizens with the use of this new platform.

This initiative reflects the Burkinabe government’s ongoing commitment to modernizing and securing its transportation sector.
