Burkina Faso / Presidential election in Chad: A citizenship day in Ouagadougou

In Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Chadian residents gathered  for a significant event: the election of their future president. From 7 o’clock in the morning, a special setup welcomed voters, who arrived either individually or in groups to exercise their voting rights.

Under the watchful eye of the Chadian ambassador to Burkina Faso, Mahamat Saleh Adoum, the election day commenced with enthusiasm.

Encouraging the volunteers present, the ambassador emphasized the importance of this democratic

process and the civic duty incumbent upon every Chadian, no matter their location.

«We have endeavored to instill in the minds of all Chadians that voting is a civic duty, and they cannot exempt themselves from fellow Chadians in Chad», he underscored.

The mobilization of Chadians living in Burkina Faso demonstrates their commitment to democracy and their homeland, despite the distance separating them from their country of origin.

Their active participation in this presidential election showcases their dedication to democratic values and the exercise of their civil rights, even on foreign soil.

Beyond the election itself, this day symbolizes the unity and solidarity of the Chadian diaspora, united in a common goal: choosing the leader who will guide their country in the years ahead.

In an increasingly connected world, this display of citizenship transcends geographical boundaries and strengthens the bond among Chadians, wherever they may be.
