Burkina Faso: At the centre of the government’s urgent actions against terrorism.

The Burkinabe government has announced urgent actions to be taken in the fight against terrorism.

In the report of the council of ministers consulted by our editorial staff, the Burkinabe government announced the temporary suspension and reorganisation of gold panning activities and the ban on the import of certain specific products used by armed terrorist groups to carry out attacks.

According to the same source, anti-fraud measures will be strengthened, as will the ban on transporting fuel in drums in areas with high security challenges.

The government has also announced a ban on the use of chemical fertilisers in high-security areas and the reorganisation of livestock sales.

“These urgent security measures aim to create a favourable environment for the population to have access to basic social services, and for the state’s administrative services to play their regalian roles,” the government said.

Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been the target of terrorist attacks that have caused casualties and internally displaced persons.
