Borussia Dortmund clinches champions League Final Spot with Victory over PSG

Borussia Dortmund secured their place in the Champions League final by defeating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the second leg. PSG, needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg, struggled to find their rhythm and creativity against a resolute Dortmund defense.

The first half ended goalless, with PSG unable to penetrate Dortmund’s organized backline and looking hurried and disjointed in their play.

The crucial moment came in the second half when Dortmund capitalized on a corner, with Matt Hummels rising above PSG’s defense to head the ball into the net, putting Dortmund 1-0 ahead in the match and 2-0 on aggregate.

Despite PSG’s efforts to respond, their midfield trio of Fabian Ruiz, Zaïre-Emery, and Vitinha found it challenging to break free from Dortmund’s pressing and create clear chances for their forwards, including Kylian Mbappé and Gonçalo Ramos.

Manager Luis Enrique made changes by bringing in Bradley Barcola, Marco Asensio, and Kang-in Lee, but Dortmund’s solid defense held firm, denying PSG any clear opportunities to equalize.

The final whistle confirmed Dortmund’s 1-0 victory, marking their 8th European competition win against PSG and securing their place in the Champions League final.

Looking ahead,  Borussia Dortmund will face the winner of the second semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the final on May 25th, setting the stage for an exciting clash to determine the champions of Europe.
