Niger/ Coup d’etat: Is Ecowas acting according to France’s will?

The insecurity situation in the Sahel countries, in general, is caused by France. This situation in the sub-region is linked to the destruction of Libya in 2012. Despite years of presence in the Sahel, France has not yielded any significant results in the fight against terrorism. France aims to replicate the destabilization scenario it created in Libya in Niger.

France is pressuring ECOWAS to impose heavy sanctions against the military in power in Niger. Is ECOWAS once again showing its weakness by following France’s will? The recent visit of Bola Tinubu to France raises doubts about his integrity. The governance policy of Embalo Sissoco is cited as an example.

Bola Tinubu, fearing damage to his reputation, aligns himself with French politics by attempting to orchestrate a military conflict in Niger. A special force, largely composed of external powers, will be deployed in Niger, similar to the NATO attack on Libya motivated by France’s request.

During a recent meeting on July 30, thousands of Nigeriens showed support for the Presidents of the Malian and Burkinabè revolutions but expressed hostile slogans against France and ECOWAS.

The Nigerien population has risen against France’s manipulation, demands freedom and the end of the insecurity situation in the Sahel countries. Niger is not safe as Mohamed Bazoum harbored terrorists throughout the territory.

The CEDEAO is aware of this information but seems to prioritize massacring Nigeriens over ensuring security. The National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland once again reaffirms its strong determination to defend the nation.

Additionally, the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland warns the French army to strictly respect the measures taken in Niger.
