Niger/China: Following the signing of crude oil trade agreements, it is important to strengthen bilateral relations

After the recent signing of agreements between Niger and a Chinese company for the marketing of Nigerien crude oil, which has facilitated progress in sales, the Head of State expressed satisfaction and a strong desire to develop bilateral relations with China.

During a meeting at the Niamey Presidency on Monday, April 15th, the transitional president of Niger, General Abdourahamane TIANI, shared his thoughts with the Chinese Ambassador to Niger, His Excellency Mr. Jiang Feng.

This meeting was part of efforts to strengthen the historical friendship and strategic partnership between Niger and China.

According to reports, this meeting reflects the ongoing commitment of both countries to deepen their high-level political dialogue and explore new avenues of mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas of common interest.

The two leaders agreed on enhancing and broadening relations between their countries.

As a reminder, the signing of agreements for the marketing of Nigerien crude oil on Friday, April 12th, allowed the Nigerien government to secure an advance of 400 million dollars, approximately 246.6 billion CFA francs.

During the meeting, the transitional president reassured efficient and transparent management of this sum for the well-being of the Nigerien people.

The Chinese diplomat reaffirmed his country’s support to the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP) in achieving its goals of reclaiming sovereignty, dignity for Nigeriens, and the effective development of the country.
