Kenyan President William Ruto’s landmark visit to the Central African Republic: Strengthening bilateral ties and promoting development

Kenyan President William Ruto made a significant visit to the Central African Republic over the weekend, receiving a warm welcome in Bangui from his counterpart Faustin Archange Touadera. This visit holds particular importance as it marks the first time a Kenyan Head of State has visited the country.

President Touadera expressed gratitude towards President Ruto for the visit, emphasizing its significance in strengthening cooperation between their two nations.

 He stated, «It’s a true honor for the Central African Republic and opens up promising avenues for cooperation between our countries. I believe this is the first time a Kenyan President has visited the CAR, and I don’t think it will be the last».

During his stay, William Ruto commended his counterpart’s efforts in restoring peace and stability in a country facing security challenges for several years.

 He highlighted the progress made under Touadera’s leadership and pledged support for ongoing reconstruction and development efforts.

«Under your leadership, we have witnessed stability, we have seen peace, and we are witnessing progress. And for that, Your Excellency, on behalf of the people of our region, I want to congratulate you and assure you of my support», President Ruto declared.

 President Ruto’s visit marks the beginning of a new era of cooperation between Kenya and the Central African Republic.

He expressed optimism about collaboration opportunities in various sectors, including agriculture and energy.

«This inaugural visit opens a great door for us to explore the possibilities between Kenya and the Central African Republic», he emphasized.

He also discussed the potential for a partnership in agriculture, highlighting cooperation potential in agricultural technology transfer.

Additionally, Kenya aims to make a significant contribution to the CAR’s energy transition.

This visit seems to demonstrate both nations’ willingness to strengthen bilateral relations and work together to promote peace, stability, and development in the region.
