Israel-Palestine conflict: Algeria raises relief ships to break the siege imposed on Gaza

Algeria is taking the courageous step of preparing relief ships to break the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip. This step, marked by a deep sense of responsibility and solidarity, resonates strongly in a complex international context.

This initiative comes at a particularly tense time, marked by violence and severe restrictions imposed on Gaza.

The Algerian organisers stress that the action is a necessary response to the «war of extermination» and the «bloody massacre» perpetrated, in their view, by the Zionist occupation, with the complicity of certain Western countries and international institutions.

The meeting announcing this initiative took place in Algiers, in a highly symbolic place: The El-Tarqi club.

It was here that the «Palestine Relief Commission» was founded in 1948. The participants recalled that Algeria’s commitment to Palestine is part of a long tradition of support.

The initiators of this action stressed the fundamental and essential nature of this initiative, dictated by a «religious» and national duty and confirmed by human and moral conscience.

They emphasise the response to the desperate appeals coming from Gaza, describing the initiative as a humanitarian emergency.

The importance of this initiative is underlined by a call for the active participation of all Algerians.

The aim is clear: to support this initiative so that it can play its humanitarian role urgently and effectively.

Those in charge of the initiative emphasise collective responsibility, evoking the testament of the martyrs and the heritage of Algerian ancestors in support of the Palestinian cause.

They did not say that remaining passive in the face of suffering in Palestine would be inconceivable for an Algerian.

It should be noted that the organisers salute the Algerian state’s constant support for the Palestinian cause, expressing their hope that this initiative will be implemented and facilitated to guarantee its success.

In short, this initiative  of Algeria reflects a deep commitment to international solidarity and justice.

It symbolises not only tangible support for the people of Gaza, but also an affirmation of the values of fraternity and mutual support that are at odds with Algerian identity.
