Burkina Faso: The sale of fuel in cans, drums, barrels prohibited according to an official statement

The Minister in charge of Trade, Serges Gnaniodem PODA through a statement informed marketers and service stations that as part of the fight against insecurity, the sale of fuel in bottles, cans, drums, barrels and other utensils, is formally prohibited throughout the national territory. This step comes after the same reaction of the president of the special delegation of Ouagadougou on the issue.

The press release reveals, however, that a special derogation is granted to professional users and dealers in areas without petrol stations.

To this end, the latter must first obtain an authorization from the competent services at regional level.

“Any offender is exposed to sanctions provided for by the texts in force,” warned the minister.

For several days, the control teams of the Ministry in charge of trade have been deployed to verify the application of the regulations concerning gas stations. Dozens of gas stations were checked last Thursday in Ouagadougou.
The ministry ensures that work continues in particular to stop the sale of fuel in cans, bottles, barrels, barrels Olive tree.
