Burkina Faso: Meeting of the Head of State with international civil servants

The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, exchanged, Thursday, December 29, 2022, with a delegation of Burkinabe international civil servants present in Ouagadougou as part of the first edition of a forum dedicated to the contribution of international civil servants to the inclusive development of Burkina Faso. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad,Mrs. Olivia ROUAMBA who led the delegation, this meeting was an opportunity for international officials to express their gratitude to the Head of State for holding the forum.

During the meeting, the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, praised the patriotic spirit of international civil servants through the holding of this forum which is the expression of their manifest attachment to the motherland which is going through difficult times. On this occasion, the President of the Transition depicted the national situation marked by a double security and humanitarian crisis that remains worrying.

The Head of State therefore naturally welcomed the initiative of international civil servants which “encourages, galvanizes and motivates them to move forward” and also invited them to remain united and always in solidarity with the motherland.

He also told them that actions are being developed to fight terrorism and for the return of IDPs to their places of origin. In this perspective, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE reaffirmed his willingness to fight with all the sons and daughters of the country to reconquer and liberate all parts of the national territory under terrorist occupation and for the well-being of the population.

On the side of international civil servants, the opportunity made it possible to gather the orientations of the Head of State and to immerse themselves in the vision of the President of the Transition.

“It is together that we will build peace and development,” said the representative of international civil servants, Ms. Elise OUATTARA.

Welcoming the initiative of the new authorities through the organization of the forum, Mrs. OUATTARA further specified that the forum serves as a framework for interactive exchanges and experiences for the benefit of the motherland before reiterating the commitment of international officials to accompany the Head of State.
