Burkina Faso: The need for the people not to give in to manipulation, and remain united behind the President.
Since coming to power in early October, President Ibrahim Traoré has had no respite from his determination to eradicate terrorism. To achieve this objective, the Head of State is firing on all cylinders.
From the call for patriotic mobilization to the reorganization of the army, Captain Ibrahim Traoré is working hard to return to stability. It also favours an inclusive approach. Meetings with the various components of society including media professionals, political parties and defense forces are among others, the actions undertaken by the Head of State.
To express his deep sense of patriotism and self-sacrifice, he declared in the Council of Ministers that he would be satisfied only with his remuneration in the army and renounce his salary as President of the Republic.
All these measures require national unity and the strong support of the people to reconquer the territories occupied by armed groups. Advocacy of hatred and division should be banned. The Burkinabe people must remain vigilant and united to lead together this struggle, which must be the priority of all.
Division is the terrorists’ golden opportunity. It is therefore urgent to avoid the messages of the troublemakers, which do not promote a concentration on the mission defined by the President.
