Burkina-Faso: The government plans to inject 500 million into communications in times of crisis and war

The Burkinabe government, under the Ministry of Communication, has recently taken significant steps to enhance crisis communication strategies in response to the ongoing conflict with terrorist forces. These measures include the adoption of reports for engaging agencies specialized in managing communication during wartime and crises within the country.

With a total budget of 500 million FCFA allocated from the 2024 national budget, these communication initiatives are deemed critical for effective crisis management.

One such initiative involves partnering with IM PRINT, a communication agency, to develop and implement a comprehensive War Communication Strategy.

This contract, valued at 100 million FCFA, underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring clear and strategic communication during challenging times.

Additionally, the government has awarded another contract to TRIBU CREA, another reputable agency, to execute the operational communication plan for the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP).

This contract, worth 170 million FCFA, highlights the importance of coordinated communication efforts in supporting national initiatives and strategies.

These strategic investments in crisis communication are essential for fostering transparency, maintaining public trust, and effectively managing the complex challenges faced by Burkina Faso.

The government’s proactive approach underscores its dedication to addressing crises with resilience and strategic communication planning.
