Burkina Faso: Hugues Fabrice Zango Awarded Officer of the Order of the Stallion

The world champion in triple jump, Burkinabe athlete Hugues Fabrice Zango, was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the Stallion on Friday during an audience with the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

The President stated that the world champion is «a reflection of the resilience and determination of athletes and the entire Burkinabe people, who remain steadfast and proud despite adversity».

«I was honored today by being made an officer of the Order of the Stallion (…). I am still very proud to represent Burkina Faso», said Hugues Fabrice Zango following his honorary distinction.

«This decoration demonstrates that the various results we achieve have a significant impact, even up to the highest levels of the state», Fabrice Zango continued. «It is very encouraging, and it gives us more strength for the future», he emphasized.

By elevating him to this rank, the President of the transition pays tribute to the Burkinabe diaspora and to all the people who defend the national colors against all odds.

«Your achievements and victories greatly enhance our collective ability to profoundly transform our country for the happiness of its daughters and sons», he promised.
