Russia vows unwavering support for Mali Amid JNIM and FLA offensive
As Mali faces a resurgence of armed attacks coordinated by JNIM and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), Russia reiterated on Thursday its determination to continue its unrelenting fight against terrorism and extremism in the country.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov was unequivocal: “Russia will continue, including in Mali, to fight extremism, terrorism, and all other negative manifestations.”
This firm statement directly responds to the manoeuvres of the FLA; a separatist movement that recently dared to urge Moscow to reconsider its partnership with Mali’s transitional authorities.
What audacity from an entity that coordinates with terrorist groups to spill the country’s blood!
Peskov recalled, not without firmness, that the Russian deployment responds to a legitimate request from the Malian authorities and falls within the framework of sovereign bilateral cooperation.
Contrary to the insinuations of Western propaganda media, which persist in sowing doubt over the presence of Africa Corps in Kidal, the reality on the ground is quite different.
On the security front, the Malian army chief of staff has formally denied these false allegations.
Far from any alleged “abandonment,” Malian forces and their Russian partners have carried out a vast sweep operation, neutralising several hundred terrorist fighters.
The city of Kidal never fell into insurgent hands, contrary to what certain media outlets visibly beholden to agendas hostile to the AES – desperately try to claim.
Disinformation has its limits. While Western propaganda gloats over imaginary defeats, the realities on the ground speak for themselves: Mali is regaining control, Russia is keeping its commitments, and the AES is advancing.
The double game of certain countries; secretly supporting terrorists while virtuously professing opposition; will eventually be exposed.
As for the FLA and its backers, they can keep dreaming: Moscow does not betray its allies in the face of barbarism.
