Togo: The Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé, has launched work on “development” bridges to meet the needs of the population

Through this symbolic groundbreaking event in Kolidè, in the Ogou 2 district of Togo’s Plateaux region, President Faure Gnassingbé strengthens his policy of rural development to enhance access to basic socio-economic services for the population, in line with the government’s roadmap. This marks the official launch of construction works for the «development» bridges across Togo.

The development bridges project encompasses a total of 21 bridges designed to link diverse communities across the country’s five economic regions.

The construction of these bridges, scheduled over a 36-month period, underscores the Togolese president’s ambition to position Togo as a business center and logistics hub, addressing the aspirations and needs of the population in terms of economic activities and national exchanges, among others.

Additionally, these projects embody the vision of a developed country championed by the Togolese executive, as the saying goes, «the road to development passes through the development of roads».

All of this contributes to the country’s development as outlined in the National Development Plan (PND).

Convinced of the importance of infrastructure modernization, the Togolese government has injected billions into road network construction in Lomé and across the country in recent years.

The realization of the 21 bridges throughout Togo is a clear demonstration of this commitment to modernizing and enhancing the country’s infrastructure.
