Togo: Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé affirms her country’s diplomatic leadership at the AU

Togo, represented by Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, has once again demonstrated its commitment and dynamism on the African diplomatic scene. Last weekend, the Prime Minister represented the President of the Republic at the 37th ordinary session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government , which took place at the Organisation’s headquarters in Addis Ababa.

At the heart of the deliberations were crucial issues for the continent, such as the implementation of the Union’s Agenda 2063 and the consolidation of Africa’s position on the international stage.

Togo, through its representative, actively contributed to discussions aimed at developing strategies and action plans to achieve the AU’s ambitious development goals.

On the sidelines of the main session, the Prime Minister also took part in a high-level side event focusing on the potential of green wealth in Africa.

This initiative, which was also attended by high-level leaders such as those from Congo and Rwanda, as well as representatives from Côte d’Ivoire and the African Development Bank, provided a platform to discuss the pressing environmental challenges facing the continent.

At the 37th  ordinary session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State, Mrs Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé stressed the urgency of climate change and called for natural resources to be harnessed for sustainable and inclusive growth.

This declaration testifies to Togo’s ongoing commitment to environmental protection and economic development, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

By making a significant contribution to the debates and proposing innovative solutions, Togo is strengthening its position as an essential partner in promoting peace, stability and development in Africa.
