Togo/Pan-African Congress: A Competition to Involve Africa’s Young People

Scheduled from October 29 to November 2, the 9th Pan-African Congress is set to take place in Lomé, the capital of Togo. This gathering serves as a platform for discussions and reflections on the challenges and future of Pan-Africanism, aiming for a more liberated, independent, and prosperous Africa.

The Pan-African congress expects the participation of Pan-African leaders, activists, and committed thinkers.

To involve African youth and those from African diasporas in this forum, Togolese diplomacy, led by Prof. Robert Dussey, has decided to organize a writing contest.

The contest invites young Africans and those of African descent, aged 17 to 24, to present their ideas and perspectives on Pan-Africanism, addressing new challenges and exploring the best ways to face the future.

This initiative aims to encourage young people to contribute their ideas and suggestions to the development of their continent.

The Pan-Africanist contest is themed, «African Youth, Diasporas, and the Renewal of Pan-Africanism: Facing Challenges Together to Build a Shared Future».

Candidates have been invited to submit their applications since January 23, and the deadline for submission is set for April 23, 2024.

Detailed submission instructions and the contest program can be found on the website of the Togolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
