Togo: Mahamadou Bonkoungou extends his commercial empire with the launch of BKG SPEED

Mahamadou Bonkoungou, a Burkinabe entrepreneur active in various sectors in Togo, has expanded his ventures into the transportation industry. His company, Bonkoungou Distribution (BKG), recently launched “BKG SPEED,” an online car reservation platform, at an official event in Lomé on March 7, 2024.

This venture faces competition from another start up, specializing in online booking for motorcycle-taxis, cars, and tricycles, which has extended its services to e-commerce, delivery, and more.

BKG SPEED” allows users to order and reserve cars for transportation, as well as for meal and parcel deliveries.

The company claims the service is operational throughout Togo, boasting a fleet of 500 new DODGE cars and professional drivers across the country.

Prisca Somda, BKG SPEED’s communication officer, stated, «Our goal is to revolutionize the on-demand transportation system, provide added value to our customers, and actively contribute to the development of the Togolese economy and job creation».

This transportation initiative complements the group’s other activities, such as operating the new Liz Aviation airline route between Lomé and Ouagadougou, as well as banking operations with IB Holding, holding a capital of 30 billion FCFA.

Furthermore, through his Ebomaf group, Mahamadou Bonkoungou is also involved in the construction of the Lomé-Kpalimé road, a project spanning 100 km.
