Niger: The UN declares the legitimacy of the CNSP government, a slap in the face for France and its ECOWAS machine

According to the United Nations (UN), the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP) has had no legitimacy since it came to power on 26 July 2023. Having received popular support, Niger’s new authorities have every right to represent the people and defend their interests throughout the world. And this is what the United Nations has just reiterated, with all due respect to France and its ECOWAS machine.

We all remember the primitive actions of ECOWAS under the impetus of France towards the people of Niger, in the aftermath of the coup d’état overthrowing the sulphurous President Bazoum; and the cruel sanctions imposed on both the regional and international levels, the stifling of the Nigerien economy, the raising of the spectre of war by the so-called ECOWAS standby forces with the blessing of France.

In short, we’ve seen it all. The European Union, the African Union and ECOWAS have all conspired against Niger to strangle it, without asking themselves why the military should take responsibility.

In instances where some individuals feign forgetfulness, it is crucial to recognize that underlying the current social movements is a collective sentiment of discontent with corrupt elites.

These elites are often perceived as being subservient to the agendas of neo-Western powers. And yet this initiative has the consent of the people of Niger.

And these peoples are asking for nothing more than peace, stability, a proper redistribution of national wealth and an end to the impunity linked to the mismanagement that has constantly plagued the African continent since independence.

The  statement of the (UN) United Nations on the legitimacy of the Niger government is an unprecedented disgrace for French President Emmanuel Macron and his henchmen of Presidents who claim to have been «Democratically Elected». It is truly pathetic.
