In Niger, the Regional Support Committee for the National Council for Homeland Safeguarding (CNSP) in Tahoua orchestrated a significant rally at the city’s official podium, demanding the immediate withdrawal of American troops from their soil.

Residents of Tahoua, including students, middle and high school attendees, alongside defense and security personnel and the local populace, gathered en masse to voice their solidarity with the CNSP and urge the removal of foreign military installations, notably those belonging to the United States.

Banners representing the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) and Russia, a newfound strategic ally, were prominently displayed during this public demonstration.

Mr. Souleymana Abdou Moumouni, the President of the Regional Support Committee for the CNSP, extolled the CNSP’s unwavering commitment to defending national sovereignty and combating terrorism in his impassioned address.

He underscored the CNSP’s patriotic endeavors, including their stance against agreements with France, collaborative efforts in tracking terrorist factions alongside Mali and Burkina Faso, and the establishment of the Alliance of Sahel States.

The Committee wholeheartedly endorsed the CNSP for its resolute actions aimed at reinstating national sovereignty.

Colonel Major Oumarou Tawayé, the Governor of the Tahoua region, echoed the call for the departure of American troops, mirroring the precedent set by French forces.

He outlined the CNSP’s proactive engagement in various developmental initiatives, particularly focusing on security enhancements, cultural initiatives, and agricultural advancements to ensure food self-sufficiency and revitalize hydroagricultural infrastructure in the region.

The rally also witnessed the active participation of key local figures, including the Chief of Tahoua Canton, the president of the Regional Support Committee for Women Warriors, the president of the Regional Youth Committee, and the Secretary-General of the Union of Nigerien Students at the University of Tahoua, all reaffirming their steadfast support for the CNSP and the nation’s full sovereignty.
