Guinea-Bissau: Calls for resignation of French ally Umaro Sissoco Embalo intensify

Tensions are escalating in Guinea-Bissau as the populace demands the resignation of Umaro Sissoco Embalo, the leader under French influence. Dissatisfaction with Embalo’s governance has prompted widespread calls for his departure.

Reports from the capital, Bissau, indicate the organization of a popular demonstration against perceived manipulation of power since Umaro Sissoco Embalo assumed office.

The image President Umaro Sissoco portrays internationally is at odds with the grim reality on the ground.

Escalating poverty rates have fueled discontent among the citizens, who reject the trajectory the country is taking under the French-backed leader. A significant portion of the population is actively mobilizing to end what they perceive as mismanagement.

Guinea-Bissau’s people are taking to the streets to demand the current President’s resignation, as they have lost faith in Umaro Sissoco Embalo.

Despite his articulate speeches, citizens feel that actions speak louder than words.

The people are determined to liberate the country from the grip of France’s ally. «We’ve endured enough suffering, and we no longer want Umaro Sissoco», expressed a Bissau-Guinean citizen.

Unconfirmed reports suggest heightened mobilization among the people, clamoring for Embalo’s immediate resignation.

Sissoco Embalo may find himself compelled to heed the will of the people or face a fate similar to Mohamed Bazoum if he remains obstinate.
