Burkina Faso/Wishes 2024: The struggle for real independence and total sovereignty must continue

The legitimate, patriotic, and Pan-African struggle that began in 2023 against imperialism and neocolonialism in Burkina Faso, as well as the Sahel region, must persist and intensify in 2024. This is the fervent desire of Captain Ibrahim Traoré for his country, the Sahelian zone, and Africa as a whole.

A year ago, following Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s MPSR assuming power, Burkina Faso, in addition to the anti-terrorism fight, embarked on a quest for a free and sovereign Burkina Faso in all aspects.

The transition, supported by an aware populace, vehemently opposed imperialism, disguised enslavement, and neocolonialism that had gripped the country for years.

Captain Traoré wishes for this battle to continue and even escalate in 2024 to achieve the desired results.

In his New Year’s address, he stated, «Decisions were made in 2023 to break the initial chains of slavery, imperialism, and neocolonialism preventing the people from experiencing happiness».

It is noteworthy that the transitional authorities made significant efforts to distance Burkina Faso and its citizens from those who had subjected them to enslavement.

This fight must persist to completely sever the harsh ties binding the land of the upright people to imperialists.

According to President Traoré, imperialism remains active both internally and externally; hence, he calls on the Burkinabe people and those across the Sahel to unite, show solidarity, and uphold the values taught by African culture.

He is convinced that the Alliance of the Sahel States (AES) is an essential means to achieve the freedom and sovereignty sought by the people of the Sahel and Africa.
