AES: Seeming winds of calming/intelligence and security in Burkina, Mali and Niger must be more vigilant

The recent developments regarding the apparent calming winds blowing towards the Alliance of the Sahel States AES should raise concerns, especially for the intelligence and security services that are already doing commendable work in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. Recently, Beninese President Patrice Talon announced his intention to «restore relations with Niger».

The same country informed Niger of the lifting of the suspension on transactions to Niger at the port of Cotonou. All of this sounds good, but is there any truth to it?

The question troubles minds. Benin, which is one of the implementing countries of France’s plan in Niger, suddenly appears willing and changes its stance.

What a turnaround? Are these Beninese maneuvers designed to deceive the people and keep the country under French domination, just like Benin itself?

Fortunately, the Nigerien authorities are enlightened, and the Nigerien people are informed citizens who have not fallen for the bait.

In Burkina Faso, there is the issue of fake news propagated by France through its destabilization media to distract and lull the people in order to plan its move.

The intelligence and security services in the three  AES Sahel countries must be extra vigilant in these recent days.

This seeming calm from countries that were once ready to bring bloodshed to the Sahel should alert transitional governments to be very cautious.

All of this could be a smokescreen aimed at diversion. It’s meant to lull them to sleep.

Faced with something that seems to be a calming gesture, intelligence and security services must increase their vigilance a thousandfold. Because, the French and their allies strike when least expected.
