Burkina Faso: Corruption and insecurity are going hand in hand. It’s time to break up this relationship!

As part of the fight against corruption in Burkina Faso, the Government has developed a strategic plan. This strategy aims to strengthen the legal and institutional framework for combating corruption in the country.

The Government will work towards mobilizing all actors and sectors involved in the fight against corruption. In this regard, the Burkinabe Government intends to take actions to enhance integrity, transparency, and quality in public administration.

The Government has decided to wage war against economic criminals who hinder the development of Burkina Faso. It calls on all actors in the anti-corruption chain not to lower their guard despite adversity.

On the security front, President Ibrahim Traoré has promised a return to peace with the people as their compass.

According to Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in this war, all uniformed personnel must rid themselves of laziness and fatigue. «Because we are going to fight this war», he added.

The tactics on the ground have changed. A powerful response from the air and ground forces is gradually reducing the number of terrorists in Burkina Faso.

Burkina Faso is clearly committed to fighting the enemy. President Ibrahim Traoré clearly demonstrates his determination to lead this fight to the end, in line with the priorities he has announced.

Meanwhile, there have been temporary tensions in relations with France and French agencies. In December 2022, Radio France Internationale was suspended from broadcasting in the national territory.

In the same month, Burkina Faso requested the recall of the French ambassador to Burkina Faso and the termination of the military agreement between Burkina Faso and France, resulting in the withdrawal of French special forces Sabre.

In January 2023, France 24 television received a warning from the Superior Council of Communication for non-compliance with press ethics.

All of these situations have an objective. President Ibrahim Traoré aims to uphold the sovereignty of Burkina Faso both regionally and internationally.
