Brigitte Macron opens up about life at the Élysée Palace in a recent interview

Brigitte Macron, wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, shared insights into their life at the Élysée Palace in a recent interview with «Paris Match». The couple’s relationship started when Brigitte, 39, a literature teacher, fell in love with Emmanuel, a brilliant 15-year-old student. Despite the age difference, they married in 2007, and Emmanuel later became the President of France in 2017.

In the interview, Brigitte emphasized that their life hasn’t changed much despite Emmanuel’s presidency.

«We are a normal couple», she said, acknowledging occasional disagreements. Brigitte discussed her influence on her husband, stating, I have the influence that a woman can have on her husband. Either it’s too much or nothing». She added that being president hasn’t altered their relationship much, except for being in the public eye.

She highlighted that there are appropriate times to discuss matters with her husband, mentioning that she doesn’t bring up important topics in the morning.

Their daily routine includes having breakfast together, where Brigitte prepares it for him.

Dinner is served late, between 22:00 and 23:00, and is always «very light». Brigitte sometimes cooks, revealing that Emmanuel loves soft-boiled eggs.

After dinner, while most couples retire to bed, Emmanuel, who «doesn’t like to fall asleep, » engages in micro-naps.

On weekends at the Lanterne residence in Versailles, the couple negotiates their schedules, goes for walks, and Emmanuel does his work.
