A Russian delegation teaches emergency first aid to young people in Burkina Faso

In Burkina Faso, a Russian delegation is imparting emergency rescue skills to the Burkinabe youth. As part of the fruitful and promising cooperation between Russia and Burkina Faso, a Russian delegation, in collaboration with the Africa Initiatives association, organized a training session on emergency first aid gestures for Burkinabe students and pupils on Thursday, December 28, 2023.

During this session at the “Maison de la Femme” in Ouagadougou, Dr. Dimitry Dolbnya emphasized the importance of knowing how to intervene in case of an accident or crisis, stating that the training aimed to equip young Burkinabe with basic first aid skills.

From handling road accidents to crises related to chronic diseases such as asthma, the doctor guided the participants on how to react quickly to save lives.

This initiative is part of the cooperation between Russia and Burkina Faso. Dr. Dolbnya specified that the training focuses on universally recognizable first aid gestures and reassured participants about any potential legal consequences.

Gaston Diendéré, a participant, praised the initiative, expressing his intention to put into practice the skills acquired when needed.

According to Dr. Dolbnya, based on on-the-ground needs, the training will be adapted and extended to other cities in Burkina Faso.

At the end of the training, Dr. Dolbnya encouraged the participants by stating that in the event of an accident, they should be the masters on the scene.

In addition to the training, participants received medication kits containing products commonly prescribed by doctors in Burkina Faso.

Also, Mohamed Dicko, a representative of the Africa Initiatives association, expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation and the Russian delegation for their expertise and the medicines provided to the participants.
