Togo : WHO representative applauds remarkable progress in health under president Gnassingbé’s Leadership
Dr. Fatoumata Binta Diallo, WHO representative in Togo, expressed delight at the progress made in the field of health during her meeting with President Faure Gnassingbé.
She highlighted significant advancements over the past five and a half years, particularly in improving the healthcare system, cooperation with the Global Fund, managing the COVID-19 pandemic, combating non-communicable diseases, and the successful organization of the 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa.
She commended the quality of partnership between Togo and WHO, expressing gratitude to President Gnassingbé for his support. This partnership revolves around four strategic priorities: strengthening the healthcare system for universal coverage, improving health at all stages of life, health security, and health promotion.
Since her arrival in 2018, Dr. Diallo has emphasized community engagement, notably by involving traditional leaders in the partnership strategy with Togo.
