The prime Minister is thankful and urge businessmen for more actions to annihilate corruption

This gesture was met with appreciation from the Prime Minister towards the business operators in the country.

He expressed his gratitude on behalf of the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, and the entire government. He emphasized that this contribution is intended to foster peace so that businesses can prosper, highlighting that when one gives to the state, they give to themselves in a well-governed state.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to ask business men and women to assist the government in fighting corruption, which hinders business development.

« Corruption contributes to the promotion of mediocrity rather than meritocracy. As you know, it is generally the business people who are initiators of corruption, while state agents are often more passive. To ensure good governance, help us fight against corruption. We know that you demonstrate nationalism. I encourage you to show even more nationalism and patriotism because by building Burkina Faso, you are building for yourselves. It is the safest investment, unlike elsewhere. This is what I urge you to do so that we can build our country to shine among the concert of nations», he stated.

In his closing remarks for CODESP 2023, the Prime Minister declared that the discussions held during this meeting proposed solutions to address the multiple challenges related to land, which negatively impact productive investment.

«We all agree that the various land issues, specifically speculation and the procedures related to mobilization, securing, and issuance of land documents, limit the impact of the government’s many efforts to facilitate private investment in our country. Therefore, it becomes more than necessary to find and implement the most appropriate solutions with the involvement of all land management stakeholders», he affirmed.

Moreover, he promised that the relevant proposals arising from this meeting will be translated into concrete actions through an action plan to be adopted by the National Steering Committee of CODESP, of which he serves as the chairperson.

«The implementation of this action plan will undoubtedly contribute to achieving the development objectives pursued by my government, particularly strengthening good governance and continuously improving the business environment», he added.

The President of the CCI-BF, Mahamadi Savadogo, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the private sector to the Prime Minister and the members of the government for the spirit of constructive dialogue that characterized this meeting.

Furthermore, he reassured the government of the private sector’s commitment to fully play its role in implementing the recommendations put forward.
