Niger/Recapture of territory: Focus on the victory of the FAN in Dosso and Tillabéry

The Nigerien Defense and Security Forces (FAN) have once again demonstrated their total commitment to the Nation. In two separate operations carried out in the Dosso and Tillabéri regions, they neutralized at least 34 terrorists, confirming their determination to protect the population and defend the integrity of the national territory.

The first operation, near Doubalma, was launched after an attack on a patrol in Soukoukoutane. Facing approximately fifty armed terrorists on motorcycles, the FDS responded with courage and efficiency, supported by air cover.

The outcome was significant: 22 attackers neutralized, several others injured, but also seven soldiers who fell in the line of duty and two wounded.

This sacrifice is a stark reminder of the high price paid by the forces to guarantee the security of the Nigerien people.

The second operation, near Mangaizé, targeted a group of terrorists transporting stolen livestock.

Thanks to a well-coordinated air and ground assault, twelve terrorists were eliminated, six motorcycles destroyed, and all the livestock recovered.

This success demonstrates the operational capability of the FDS and their commitment to defending citizens’ lives and property.

These actions reflect the confidence placed in the army, a pillar of national stability.

Saluting the professionalism and courage of the soldiers, the Nigerien people pay homage to those who, every day, risk their lives so that peace and security may reign throughout the territory.
