USA/ Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk shot dead at Utah University event

American conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a prominent ally of former President Donald Trump, was fatally shot during a public meeting at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10. Kirk, 31, was struck in the neck by a sniper round and died while being transported to the hospital.

The incident occurred in Orem, approximately 60 kilometers south of Salt Lake City, as Kirk was answering questions from a crowd under an outdoor tent branded with his “American Comeback Tour” logo.

Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot just as Kirk was discussing mass shootings a moment captured in videos showing the influencer collapsing.

President Trump confirmed Kirk’s death on Truth Social and ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-mast until Sunday evening in tribute to the activist, whom he described as a “true and great American patriot.”

Kirk was a key figure in mobilizing youth support for Trump’s 2024 campaign and was on the first stop of a national tour scheduled through October. The FBI is actively investigating the shooting and searching for the suspected sniper.

The attack has sent shockwaves through political circles, highlighting ongoing tensions in U.S. public discourse.
