Burkina Faso: Patriotic initiative – 760 young builders mobilised to support the work of Faso Mêbo

In an atmosphere filled with patriotic fervor, the National Training Center for Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (CNF-VDP) hosted a grand graduation ceremony this Monday for the 3rd wave of Construction-Specialized Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). Destined for the Faso Mêbo Agency, these 760 new builders including 75 women; embody the unshakeable determination of the youth of  Burkina Faso to rebuild the Nation.

Presided over by Lieutenant-Colonel Mahamady Sawadogo, Commander of the Brigade of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (BVDP), the event pulsed to the rhythm of ancestral songs and solemn oaths.

These young volunteers, rigorously trained over several weeks, swore absolute loyalty to the Motherland.

Their commitment is no empty promise: it is part of the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition, who places sovereignty and endogenous development at the heart of national priorities.

The Faso Mêbo Agency, spearhead of major infrastructure works, now benefits from a dedicated and skilled workforce.

These builder VDPs are ready to take on the most demanding construction sites: roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and dams.

Their training at the CNF-VDP combines modern construction techniques with martial values, forging citizen-soldiers capable of defending the soil while building it up.

Among them, the 75 women symbolize female empowerment in Burkina Faso, proving that constructive strength transcends gender.

This largest contingent of the 3rd wave responds to a national emergency. Faced with security challenges and growing infrastructure needs, the youth of Burkina Faso are mobilizing en masse.

These 760 volunteers join the thousands already deployed, multiplying efforts for a self-sufficient Faso.

Their determination inspires: far from empty speeches, they act, pickaxe and cement in hand, to materialize the dream of an emerging country.

Lieutenant-Colonel Sawadogo hailed this “patriotic wave” that strengthens national unity. “You are the architects of our sovereignty,” he declared, calling for iron discipline on the worksites.

This ceremony is not just a parade; it is a strong signal: the united and resolute youth of Burkina Faso reject dependency and build their own destiny.

In these times of rebirth, these builder VDPs remind us that victory comes through hard work. Faso Mêbo marches forward, carried by valiant hearts!
