Football/ FIFA faces fan fury over “scandalous” 2026 World Cup ticket prices
FIFA is facing a major backlash from football supporters over “scandalous” ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup. The Football Supporters’ Association has demanded a halt to sales and called on national associations to challenge the costs, which have skyrocketed compared to the 2022 tournament.
The cheapest final ticket is now £3,119 seven times more expensive than in Qatar with no concessions for children.
Following a team through the tournament could cost over £12,000. Fan groups accuse FIFA of making the event unaffordable for loyal supporters, prioritizing profit over accessibility and risking stadiums filled only by elites.
FIFA and football associations have yet to comment.
