The President of the Republic of Togo, His Excellency Faure  Essozimna Gnassingbé will participate in the 28th Conference of the Parties on climate change COP 28, scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The invitation was extended to him by his Emirati counterpart, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as revealed by the Togolese Republic’s news website.

It should be noted that the invitation letter was handed over to the Head of State  Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe by the head of the United Arab Emirates mission accredited to Togo, Amer Alalawi.

The occasion provided an opportunity for the two personalities to discuss cooperation between the two countries and explore ways to strengthen it.

Scheduled to be held at Dubai Expo City, COP 28 will allow participants to review the commitments made since 2015 and the Paris Agreement.

Last year, in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, Togo took part in the negotiations and presented its actions and projects.
