Togo: The inclusion policy initiated by His Excellency Faure Gnassingbé, praised in Geneva in the presence of the Togolese Prime Minister

Her Excellency Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, the Prime Minister of Togo, participated last week in the International Labour Organization (ILO) Summit on Social Justice in Geneva, Switzerland. On the sidelines of the event, the Togolese Prime Minister held bilateral meetings and working sessions with several key actors, including Gilbert Houngbo, the Director-General of the ILO and former Togolese Prime Minister, on June 14, 2023.

Gilbert Houngbo particularly praised the inclusion policy initiated by His Excellency Faure Gnassingbé, the President of the Togolese Republic.

« It is a great and special honor for me to welcome my compatriot, Her Excellency Mrs. Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, the Prime Minister. Togo has resolutely committed to sustainable development based on the values of the ILO», said Gilbert Houngbo.

«The current preparation of a social stability pact for inclusive growth is the latest manifestation of this commitment. The effects of this engagement are visible till the State’s high-level, with a significant reduction in poverty rates between 2006 and 2022», acknowledged Gilbert Houngbo.

The Prime Minister also held a meeting with Mia Seppo, the Assistant to the Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), regarding Togo’s engagement in the initiative for a social protection floor.
