TOGO: RESUMPTION OF THE FESTIVAL OF BLACK DIVINITIES/ ANÉHO AND GLIDJI IN FULL PREPARATION TO HOST THE EVENT

The 9th edition of the  Festival of Black Divinities  returns this year from January 12 to 14, after a 10-year hiatus. For 3 days, Aného and Glidji (2 localities in the Lacs region) will resonate with the rhythms of rituals, ceremonies, and traditional dances characteristic of the beliefs of Black Africa.

«Togo: land of our ancestors, unknown land» is the theme chosen by Acofin, the organizing association of this event, aimed at celebrating the heritage of initiatory societies and promoting the cultural diversity of the region.

The Festival of Black Divinities, similar to the Vodun Days in Benin, is an opportunity to showcase and make known the rituals and artistic performances of different communities, including sacred dances, drums, and traditional songs.

Several activities are planned for this event, including performances showcasing the traditions of initiatory societies from the North, with groups such as the Kondonas of Pya, the Solas, and others.

There will also be various cultural activities such as demonstrations of African cultures, Fa consultations, and carnivals.

The organizers have also included in the program other activities aimed at celebrating the cultural heritage of the continent from all angles.

These include exhibitions, culinary tastings, and concerts.

The Togolese and international public are invited to participate in these 3 days of celebration of the Black Divinities in Glidji and on Acofin Square and Flamani Square in Aného.
