Togo: President Faure Gnassingbé propels the country towards brighter horizons

Under the presidency of Faure Gnassingbé, Togo has continued to stand out with its ambitious reforms in public and institutional policies.

The World Bank recently recognized these efforts in its latest evaluation for Africa, awarding Togo an overall score of 3.8.

This marks an improvement of 0.1 points from the previous year, positioning the country above the average for West and Central Africa (3.3) and the Sub-Saharan Africa IDA average (2.9).

Togo now ranks among the top five countries on the continent, sharing this distinction with Côte d’Ivoire, and stands as a leader in the West African sub-region alongside Benin and Cape Verde.

This ranking highlights the country’s commitment to social inclusion and equity, achieving a notable score of 4.0 in these areas and emerging as a regional leader.

The World Bank particularly applauded Togo’s initiatives in women’s empowerment and social protection.

The country’s economic management has also been praised, particularly for its efforts in resource mobilization. However, further actions are anticipated to enhance structural policies, with expected benefits to be realized in the near future.

By consolidating these advancements, Togo is reinforcing its international credibility and establishing itself as a model of progress for the well-being of its people.
