Togo: Creation of a UL-China cooperation unit, with projects to benefit the Togolese academic community

As part of its strategy to strengthen ties with Chinese academic institutions, the University of Lomé (UL) has established a unit with the mission of promoting educational cooperation between Togo and the People’s Republic of China.

This unit, which will soon be operational, aims to focus on priority research areas and projects to facilitate the mobility of researchers and students between the two nations.

In preparation for the establishment of the China-UL Cooperation Unit, a meeting was held between the stakeholders and Chinese Ambassador Chao Wedong to discuss future collaboration between the two entities.

This commendable initiative aims to enhance cooperation in the university and research sectors and underscores the importance of educational cooperation as a pillar of Chinese soft power.

Furthermore, the creation of the China-UL Cooperation Unit will accelerate the consolidation of UL-China cooperation.

It paves the way for joint exchanges and projects that benefit the Togolese student and academic community, as well as Chinese partners.
