TOGO: CENI appoints political party representatives to the CELIs

The National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) has announced new appointments within the Independent Local Electoral Commissions (CELI). These appointments involve representatives from the Socialist Party for Renewal (PSR) and the New Togolese Commitment (NET).

Dago Yabre, the President of CENI, appointed Cherita Gambi from the Socialist Party for Renewal (PSR) to the Kpélé CELI, replacing Elolo Kodjo Dokoe.

The second appointment concerns Koboyo Kola from the New Togolese Commitment (NET), who takes over from Essolizam Maza within the Independent Local Electoral Commission.

According to the President of CENI, these appointments were made in response to formal requests from the PSR and NET parties, submitted on December 21 and 26, 2023, respectively. These adjustments nullify the previous appointments.

«Mrs. Gambi Cherita is appointed a member of the Independent Local Electoral Commission (CELI) of Kpélé on behalf of the PSR, replacing Mr. Dokoe Kodjo Elolo. Similarly, Mr. Kola Koboyo is appointed a member of the Independent Local Electoral Commission of Golfe 4 on behalf of the NET, replacing Mr. Maza Essolizam», stated the president in the announcement, specifying that the decision takes effect from the date of its signature.
