Togo: The Togolese State has become a shareholder of Asky Airlines with a 14.39% stake in the company’s capital

It’s now official, The Togolese State has become a shareholder of the Asky Airlines This was officially confirmed on August 21st in Lomé during a signing ceremony attended by Sani Yaya, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Koffi Gervais Djondo, the Chairman of the Board and founder of the airline, as well as strategic partners including Ethiopian Airlines, BOAD, BIDC, and Ecobank.

The participation involves an investment of 6 billion CFA francs, representing 600,000 shares, which amounts to 14.39% of Asky’s capital.

Since its inception, Asky has established itself as a prominent airline, providing quality services, exemplary safety, and essential air connections across Africa and beyond, with the support of its key strategic shareholder, Ethiopian Airlines. Asky has also played a role in strengthening Togo’s status as a regional hub.

Asky  Airlines operates a network of 23 destinations in 11 West and Central African countries.

With the backing of its strategic partner Ethiopian Airlines, the airline aims to double its capital from 35.69 billion FCFA to 60 billion FCFA.

The Togolese government’s involvement as a shareholder marks a new initiative to expand the network and underscores the country’s commitment to democratizing air travel.
