Tennis/ International Junior Tennis Tournament: Dakar in the spotlight

The Senegalese capital, Dakar, is gearing up to host the 7th edition of the Junior Tennis Internationals, a highly anticipated event scheduled to take place from October 23rd to November 4th, 2023. This competition will witness the clash of young tennis prodigies hailing from nearly thirty different nations.

The Junior tennis Internationals tournament will span two consecutive weeks, with the first week categorized as J30 (30 points on the ITF ranking) and the second week as J60 (60 points on the ITF ranking) as part of the junior world circuit of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Since its inception in 2018, Dakar’s tournament has established itself as a must-stop for young players looking to accrue ITF points.

This year, the event anticipates the participation of nearly a hundred players from 30 different countries, as stated by the Technical Director of the tournament, Moulid Doumbia.

Approximately 90 players have already confirmed their participation, including 10 representatives from Senegal, with an equal split of five female and five male players.
