Niger: Mohamed Bazoum is said to have presented his resignation

The former president of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, who was overthrown for poor governance, has reportedly agreed to tender his resignation. This information has not yet been confirmed. Mohamed Bazoum is said to have taken this decision in order to avoid clashes with serious human and material consequences, and to put an end to the risks of military intervention, which France had planned. Macron’s speech does not say otherwise.

The gathering of thousands of Nigeriens in support of the ruling military changed Mohamed Bazoum’s mind.

The people of Niger have expressed their determination to drive French troops out of the country.

Former president Mohamed Bazoum is paying for his lack of results in governance and his cooperation with jihadist leaders in the Sahel.

According to unconfirmed reports, Bazoum has asked his ECOWAS allies, who are lashing out at the CNSP regime, to hush up the idea of a military attack once and for all.

While France claims to defend universal values and support sovereign regimes (the military in Niger), geopolitical and economic realities sometimes seem to take precedence, creating contradictory perceptions of French foreign policy. France adopts a hypocritical attitude towards Niger.
