Music/Drake puts his musical career on pause for health reason
Canadian rapper Drake announced on Friday that he’s taking a “one-year or more” break from his music career to «focus on his health», citing stomach issues as the reason.
«I probably won’t do music for a while, I’ll be honest, », the 36-year-old artist explained on his radio program», «Table for One», «adding, «I need to focus on my health and get back on my feet».
Reassuring fans, the singer of «Started from the bottom» emphasized that it’s «nothing serious», but he has been dealing with various stomach problems for several years. He also mentioned that he has other things to attend to, without going into specifics.
«I’ma lock the door in the studio for a little bit» Drake said, stating that it might last «perhaps a year, maybe a bit longer».
Several upcoming concert dates in the United States have been postponed on the singer’s website and Ticketmaster.
However, the ones scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Toronto appear to be proceeding, and fans have already been seen queuing up outside the venue.
This announcement coincides with the release of his new album, «For All the Dogs».
His five-year-old son, Adonis, created the album cover and appeared in a video for the song «8AM in Charlotte».
