Manchester United eye swap deal for Barcelona’s Raphinha amid Jadon Sancho rift

Manchester United are reportedly exploring a swap deal with Barcelona, which could see Jadon Sancho traded for Brazilian winger Raphinha during the January transfer window, according to Sport.

Sancho, currently suspended indefinitely by United following a public clash with manager Erik ten Hag, is expected to be offloaded by the club in the New Year.

The 23-year-old’s future at Old Trafford has been in doubt since he refused to apologize for his outburst after United’s loss to Arsenal.

Barcelona, who are open to selling Raphinha, have reportedly set a €92 million price tag for the former Leeds United star.

Although Raphinha is keen to stay in Spain, his diminishing role at the Catalan club could prompt a move.

United could benefit from a straight swap, given Raphinha’s proven Premier League experience with Leeds, where he contributed 29 goals over two seasons.

However, the deal could face obstacles if Barcelona demands additional funds, as United are currently constrained by Financial Fair Play regulations.

The club’s ability to spend in January might also hinge on potential player sales, with Casemiro and Anthony Martial rumored to be targets for Saudi Arabian clubs.
